Description:
Napsum 85/500mg tablet is a combination drug containing Sumatriptan (85 mg) and Naproxen sodium (500 mg). This prescription medicine is intended for use in treating migraine headache with or without aura in adults.
Sumatriptan: It belongs to the triptan class of drugs (serotonin receptor agonists) and works by constricting blood vessels in the brain to relieve migraine pain.
Naproxen sodium: It is a type of NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) which works by blocking certain natural substances responsible for causing pain and inflammation.
Dose for Adults: One tablet orally as a single dose with water as soon as possible once the attack of migraines occurs.
Maximum Dose Limitation: No more than 2 tablets in 24 hours. Do not crush or chew.
Side effects: It may lead to feeling dizzy, fatigued, nausea, chest tightness, and sore throat.
Precautions: The use of NSAID increases the chances of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal serious complications. People who have heart disease, history of stroke, or allergies to aspirin should avoid it.
Sumatriptan and naproxen tablets are used to treat acute attacks of migraine headache (with or without aura) in adults and children of 12 years and older.
