Description
Exforge 10mg/160mg is a prescription medication combining 10mg amlodipine.
(a calcium channel blocker) and 160mg valsartan Exforge 10mg/160mg price (an angiotensin II receptor blocker).
It treats essential hypertension by relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure, usually Exforge 10mg/160mg online taken as one daily tablet for patients requiring combined therapy.
Amlodipine 10mg: Causes relaxation of the smooth muscles of the blood vessels due to blocking calcium ions entry in heart and blood vessel walls to dilate blood vessels, hence decreasing resistance.Valsartan 160mg: Acts by inhibiting action of the hormone angiotensin II that constricts the blood vessels.
The two drugs have an additive effect of reducing blood pressure much better when taken together than using either drug alone. The onset of the effect occurs within 2 hours and can last up to 24 hours.
Standard Dosage: One tablet is recommended once daily, with or without water.CONSISTENCY: It is advised to take it consistently with or without meals.INDICATIONS: Should only be used by individuals whose blood pressure cannot be reduced by the use of amlodipine or valsartan alone.
They include dizziness, headaches, fatigue and edema (swelling of the feet and ankle).
This results into vasodilation and subsequently reduction in the blood pressure. Exforge tablets contain both amlodipine and valsartan and are administered to individuals suffering from hypertension but not responsive to use of either of the two medicines alone.
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg of amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate) and 160 mg of valsartan. Full list of excipients in Section 6.1.
