Description
Glivec 400mg is a tablet formulation, which contains 400 mg of imatinib (as mesilate) and is a targeted anti-cancer drug used in the inhibition of tyrosine kinase enzymes in specific forms of leukemias and tumors.
Very dark yellow to brownish orange color, biconvex, ovaloid tablets having beveled edges; “NVR” marked on one side while “SL” on another side.
CML: Philadelphia positive (Ph+). Ph+ ALL: in conjunction with GLIVEC 400MG TABLET chemotherapy.GIST, myelodysplastic syndromes, and systemic mastocytosis.
Tablet should be taken with a large glass of water after a meal in order to minimize gastrointestinal side effects and should always be ingested as such.
Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, myalgia, weakness, skin rash, or edema. Bleeding/bruising, stomach pain, jaundice, or symptoms of infection.Pregnancy: Not to be used during pregnancy; both partners should use highly effective contraception.
