Minirin 0.2mg tablet

Minirin 0.2mg is a medication containing desmopressin acetate, which is a man-made form of the hormone vasopressin (also known as antidiuretic hormone).

Active Ingredient: Desmopressin acetate MINIRIN 0.2 mg TABLET  (equivalent to 0.178 mg of desmopressin free base).

Appearance: Color less white circular convex tablet with one line of scoring Minirin 0.2mg tablet in pakistan imprinted with “0.2” on the one side (the line is scoring for breaking the tablet to facilitate swallowing).

Central Diabetes Insipidus: Mimics the effects of missing hormone to alleviate excessive thirst, increased urine formation, and urination.

Primary Nocturnal Enuresis: Controls nocturnal enuresis in children 5 years old and older by reducing urine formation at night.

Nocturia in Adults: Utilized for the management of nocturia associated with nocturnal polyuria.

Desmopressin stimulates V2 receptors in the kidney tubules resulting in increased water reabsorption into the bloodstream leading to increased concentration of urine and reduced urine volume.

Fluid Restriction: The restriction of fluid intake is required while taking Minirin (especially prior to bedtime in bed wetting) to avoid water overload and hypo natremia.

Contraindications: Should not be used in patients with psychogenic poly dipsia, heart failure, moderate to severe renal insufficiency, hypo natremia, or severe dehydration.

Primary Nocturnal Enuresis (Bedwetting).
