Riveme 1.5mg capsule

Riveme 1.5 mg is an over-the-counter drug that contains rivastigmine, an active ingredient (rivastigmine tartrate).

This medicine belongs to a group of drugs Riveme 1.5mg capsule called choli nesterase inhibitors or anti-choli nesterases and is used to treat progressive cognitive changes.

Parkinson’s Disease Dementia: Treatment of cognitive impairment associated with problems of thought, attention, and memory in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

Mechanism of action: It works by reversibly inhibiting the activity of enzymes (acetylcho linesterase and butyrylch olinesterase) involved in the decomposition of acetylcholine in the brain. Acetyl choline is an important neurotransmitter, necessary for the functioning of nerves, as well as for memory and cognitive processes. This medicine keeps acetylcholine at high levels in certain brain areas (the cortex and hippocampus) to maximize the ability to perform remaining cognitive functions.

It is recommended to swallow this medicine whole with a glass of water. It should be taken with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, followed by weight loss.

Neurological disorders: Dizziness, headaches, drowsiness, tremor, agitation or confusion.

Other disorders: Excessive sweating, fatigue, stomach pain or heartburn.
