Cipralex 10mg tablet

Cipralex 10 mg is an antidepressant oral medication which contains escitalopram (in form of escitalopram oxalate) and belongs to SSRI drug group.

Indications: Treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized cipralex 10mg tablet anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder (SAD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Mechanism of Action: Escitalopram works by increasing Cipralex 10mg tablet in Pakistan the effects of serotonin – chemical messenger that impacts mood and causes anxiety.

Onset of Therapeutic Effects: The full effects may take from 2 to 4 weeks (or even 6 weeks) to become evident.

Usual Adult Dose: 10 mg to be taken orally once a day regardless of food intake.

Possible Increase: Can be adjusted by a healthcare provider up to 20 mg daily according to individual needs.

Tablet Administration: Can be swallowed as a whole or cut in halves; should not be chewed or crushed because of bitter taste.

Side Effects: Nausea and headaches
Fatigue, dizziness, and drowsiness
Insomnia or nightmares.

Do Not Discontinue Suddenly: Discontinuation can cause discontinuation/withdrawal symptoms; tapering down is necessary.

Drug Interactions: It is contraindicated to use along with MAOI medications, alcohol, and blood thinners without strict medical supervision.

Patient Populations: Should be used cautiously by pregnant/lactating women and elderly patients.
